If you want them to be brilliant, tel them more stories."

Storytelling is the oldest form of teaching. It bonded the early human communities, giving children the answers to the biggest questions of creation, life, and the afterlife. Stories define us, shape us, control us, and make us. Not every human culture in the world is literate, but every single culture tells stories.
Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling is a unique way for children and adults alike to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for others, and can promote a positive attitude to people from different lands and religions.
A person’s mind, body and spirit each age at a different pace. Several studies suggest that for older adults, storytelling is a great way to build happiness, resilience and a better quality of life (Kenyon, 2003a). Telling and listening to stories: Creating a wisdom environment for older people.
Differences between cultures and various lifestyles are introduced to people through stories. All the stories are informative and help those who may know very little about the life in the world outside their own geography and routines.

- Inspires purposeful talking
- Raises the enthusiasm for reading texts to find stories, reread them, etc.
- Initiates writing, especially in children, as they will quickly want to write stories and tell them
- Improves listening skills
- Gives a motivating reason for English-language learners, children and those from overseas, to speak and write English.

SOme of our stories and the Storytellers
ŠPELA KAPLJA
"Storytelling plays a crucial role in environmental education and in all other kinds of raising awareness for protecting nature activities. But what kinds of stories are needed in this time of now where storytelling is needed more than ever? What is the power and responsibility of a story? Stories bring the values of heart, culture, compassion, kindness, cooperation. Their message goes as far as it touches the core of our longing and spreads interest and love for nature instead of fear that is spread through other forms of media."
Špela is well known storyteller from Slovenia. She works with local school children, taking them for for walks in forests to tell them stories about nature and the environment, she sees her role as developing an awareness in young people of the importance of the environment and of their role in protecting it. She is working with the Fair Earth Foundation to coordinate our first ever International Storytelling Gathering in Tenerife for which we will be bringing in storytellers from around the world!
She is also developing workshops to help train storytellers, which will be delivered in Slovenia, Tenerife, Ireland and the UK and further short workshops to be delivered in schools and in business environments to help people learn how to tell their stories more effectively.
