Our everyday actions consume energy and produce carbon emissions. These actions include driving, flying and heating buildings. All that excess CO2 in the atmosphere, amongst other things, is causing our climate to change dramatically, bringing about biodiversity loss, habitat loss, extreme weather event and much more! However, all that CO2 can be transformed into oxygen, all because of trees.
If you didn't already know, trees take in CO2 and give out oxygen. The Amazon Rainforest is also known as the 'lungs' of the planet for this exact reason. Due to increasing urbanisation and forest clearing for agriculture, there are less and less trees and forested spaces in the world. This is why it is vitally important to invest in afforestation schemes so that we don't lose our planet's important 'lungs.'
Just look at the average monthly CO2 estimates* for countries around the world:
*(Data from World Bank estimates of CO2 emissions per capita)

We have tree planting programmes in the UK, Sri Lanka and Vietnam as part of Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream; with plans to develop the programme in West Africa, the Caribbean and South America. Programme funding covers local communities maintaining and nurturing the planted trees. We are very keen to collaborate with schools, businesses and communities to develop their carbon offsetting capacity, through planting trees.
