Summer 2024 - We are fundraising to plant trees in Sri Lanka. There will be serval aims;
1st: food security, planting jack fruit and other fruit trees
2nd: Planting trees to restore jungle cover in part to improve the breeding ground for the indigenous leopard population. Our goad is to plant 10,000 trees with our volunteers working alongside local communities. We want to raise £10,000 to plant 10,000 trees and the funds will be used in part to support our Global Village Project, led by local women who will be funded to produce natural products, which will be sold in the UK to raise further funds.
2024 Plant a tree - fund a dream
one million trees in the UK and around the world
The Fair Earth Foundation is working with local communities, globally:
In the UK through our Art & Nature programme we are giving participating schools and groups FREE terracotta pots hand made ‘fair trade’ from women in Sri Lanka together with painting materials and masses of inspiration. We are encouraging them to sell them to raise funds to support their own local projects- Encouraging: Creativity- Entrepreneurship- Altruism. In February we will be giving away (free) quality British trees (alder, silver birch, hazel, beech and oak) to plant or to sell 10,000 have been bought for this purpose.
In our operating base in Tenerife, we are running a similar programme with local schools. Target: 5,000

The above 10,000 trees planted in the UK will fund 10x that number planted in our communities around the world- a total of 100,000 trees! Certificates will be issued!!
Globally, we are working with and developing community tree planting programmes. Initially we are working with four communities identified for their individual opportunities. We intend to roll this programme out to our many other global communities during 2024.
Currently, we support them through fair trade (True Fair Trading CIC) and eco-tourism (True Fair Eco-Tourism CIC). The tree planting programme will give us another way to provide income for them in ways that help us help our planet to everyone’s advantage! |
Four Initial Communities:
Sri Lanka
The initial focus is on supporting women farmers desperate to feed their families. The project will finance two Jack Trees to each of 1000 farms to provide added food security. The project will cover the cost of the trees, expertise in maintaining them including fertiliser etc. A second initiative will be in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Leopard Conservation Society in buying failed tea plantations with a view to restoring jungle corridors to enable the endangered but critically important leopard population increase its gene pool |
Vietnam
Our operating base is in the village of Dai Kat which grows flowers to support the nearby markets in Hanoi. We are working with the local school with the aim of school children helping plant and maintain trees (mainly fruit trees for food security). In exchange the programme will fund scholarships for poorer children to attend school. |
Additionally, we are working with HEDO, the Highland Economic Development Organisation, with which we have strong ties. There are some 27 ethnic communities (hill tribes) and we will be working with the Tay and Muong tribes initially. We will fund a mix of fruit and jungle trees with income going directly into the communities |
Nigeria
In Nigeria we are working with a mangrove swamp conservation project, critically important and endangered habitats for manatee and other species. The school children driven initiative will support both fruit trees for food security and mangrove trees to protect critically important and threatened habitats. Tanzania
We are working with an established community tree planting programme that will act as a best practice model to be replicated elsewhere. Food security is key in this project. |
Target: 100,000 trees in collaboration with the UK and Tenerife Art & Nature school projects. Each tree planted in the UK and Tenerife will fund 10 trees in the above community projects.
CORPORATE: We are looking for corporate sponsorships to fund a further 900,000 trees (target 1,000,000 in 2024), The cost of this in total would be around £90,000 and we will be offering sponsorship packages starting from 1,000 pounds. These packages will cover local school/ community collaborations as well as potential international collaborations. Together we can help our children make a real difference to their planet and its/ their future.
