Špela Kaplja

Špela Kaplja is a storyteller and writer who sees her mission in bonding people to nature. She has written several books for children, the last two, How a Green Heart and The Forest Book, bring children closer to the magic of the natural world.

She is most interested in how to use the art of storytelling to bring nature closer to people.

She developed her own approach to natures workshop where she uses storytelling, creative writing and play to help people bond with nature. Špela is co-founder of Terra Anima, a deep ecology centre, which she build together with her 2 friends and now works there. She is developing the art of storytelling for Nature there and developing her own practice of therapeutical storytelling with donkeys assistance. Špela performed Europe wide, starting at the Europe most famous  Scottish Storytelling Festival in Edinburgh in 2017, where she also led a workshop at the Storytelling for Nature event. She is working with the Fair Earth Foundation to coordinate their first ever International Storytelling Gathering in Tenerife and performed at the London Eco film festival with her environmental stories.
