Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and Mali Elephant Project Why do we allow the greed of the few destroy our world? There is a native American proverb that says we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. The future of our generation and unborn children is being stolen right now! Young people around the world are trying to strike for the climate, while the greed of few is laughing and accumulating even more wealth by sucking the Earth’s natural resources and polluting the globe with consumerism and fake values. |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why do people only see what they want to see? This is simply called ignorance. We choose what we want to see and avoid the rest rather than face the unpleasant truths. What are the biggest issues in the world that we ignore? People are dying of hunger while we throw away one third of the food produced, globally. This amount could feed the hungry four times! We are spending money on military and nuclear weapons, while around 36% of people live in extreme poverty. |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why can't we learn from the mistakes of the past? We have pushed millions of species to extinction (and still continue to), we are polluting our planet with greenhouse gasses and waste, we are making whole ecosystems collapse, nations are fighting over natural resources and power. The list goes on. Why can’t we see that our actions are harming the planet and us directly? Why can’t we learn? Why can’t we act?! |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why don’t we teach our children to think for themselves? This is the root of many societal problems. The fact that we do not teach children to be their own person, with their own thoughts and their own opinions. Is the format of our current educational system and societal norms the cause of much unrest? "To be free is to be capable of thinking one's own thoughts - not the thoughts merely of the body, or of society, but thoughts generated by one's deepest, most original, most essential and spiritual self, one's individuality." - Rudolf Steiner |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream Why do we allow genocide in today’s world? You may think that genocide is a thing of our barbaric past, something that we must learn from and swear to never happen again. Unfortunately this is not the case. The highest recorded death toll from a genocide is the holocaust in Germany in 1945, killing nearly 6 million people, two thirds of the jewish population in Europe. Incredibly, tragedy continued into the 1990’s with the Rwandan genocide where nearly 1 million people were killed in 100 days. Genocide is still happening. |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why do we harm innocent animals? Animal abuse comes in many forms all over the world, sometimes closer to home than you would originally think. Over 100 million animals die every year in the US alone as part of various animal testing exercises. Is this fair? Why are animals, with whom we share our planet, at our disposal to do with them as we wish? |

Donation: £50 to the Plastic Bank We know what the problems are. Why don’t we act? The topic of climate change has been around for almost two hundred years, but the year 1988 was a turning point when things started to get serious. Scientists have acknowledged that the impact of heat-trapping emissions from burning fossil fuels might have devastating consequences in the future. Yet, more than 30 years later, we are not doing enough to combat this issue! |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream Why are we ignoring the scientific facts on climate change? We know the facts. Why do we allow people to simply ignore or invalidate them? Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why do we allow ourselves to be the puppets of capitalism? Yes we should encourage individuals to be better global citizens and do their bit for the planet, but what about the bigger picture? According to a CDP report, the top 100 wealthiest corporations have caused 71% of greenhouse gas emissions since 1998. We must keep emissions below a certain level if we have any chance of slowing climate change and saving our planet for future generations. Is capitalism to blame for our dying planet? |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why can't we accept our differences? Why do we treat people differently just because they are different to ourselves or to societal norms? Why isn't diversity seen as a strength? Discrimination is something that happens in communities all over the world. In the US, black individuals are twice as likely to be unemployed and earn nearly 25% less than their white counterparts. Why is this still happening in today’s world? Why are we not doing more to tackle this problem? |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream and the Plastic Bank Why is violence always the answer? Martin Luther King once said "darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." If we follow this idea, violence cannot drive out violence, only peace can. UK Crime statistics has reported an increase of 15.8% of crime in England and Wales between June and July of this year as incidents jumped from 147,857 to 163,624. |

Donation: £50 to Plant a Tree, Fund a Dream Why don’t people speak their minds? Why do they stay silent when they see something wrong? Everyone deserves to be heard and more importantly, when a person speaks up for something when they believe it’s the right thing to do, there is nothing that should stop them openly standing up and fighting for the greater good. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke |
