Globally
1. We give value to local culture in a variety of ways, in order to help make communities sustainable and preserve their way of life.
A. Trading: We microfinance and facilitate craft and artisan activity with small enterprises and individuals, globally. We collaborate with such as The Royal Horticulture Society in selling products made in our communities and we sell products through the internet. Surpluses are reinvested in the communities from which they were generated for them to decide how to spend the monies reinvested. (normally into education or microfinancing further activity)
B. Fund Raising: We facilitate fundraising to support projects globally. These projects can be social, environmental or nature based. They are driven by and organised through local communities around the world. We work with individuals and groups, mainly in the UK, to fundraise for these projects. The aim, in part, is to encourage altruistic behaviour. ALL fundraisers are given priority in our volunteer programmes and are encouraged to participate in the project they fundraise for. Ordinary people working together at a grassroots level to make a difference. Fundraising is organised through our Global 7 Peak Challenge. Individuals do not have to necessarily participate in the mountain challenges but they are great fun. For further information contact [email protected] C. Eco Tourism: Tourism is the world’s largest industry and has the capacity to affect great change both good and bad. Eco tourism aims to work with local communities to ensure they receive the benefits of tourism income and that tourists do not impact negatively on their communities or their environment.
