Volunteering is about giving of ourselves for the common good in the certain knowledge that such activity leads to personal growth and satisfaction.
The essential elements of Fair Earth Foundation’ Volunteering opportunities:
1. Low cost. All our programmes are low cost so as to make them accessible to all and not just those with wealthy parents. We provide great opportunities and expect our volunteers to be flexible, adaptable, helpful and supportive. We expect our volunteers to come with great attitude. In life ‘Positive Attitude’ is everything.
2. Our programmes are based on principles of Experiential Learning. We are not running school trips. We are providing opportunity for people to make a difference. We are not interested in holding their hands and patting them on their heads condescendingly. We
expect them to come with a can-do attitude and on a mission to actually do something with their lives.
3. Cultural experience. We work within local communities at a grassroots level. We immerse volunteers in the local culture and expect them to have absolute respect for the people they meet.
4. True volunteering: We don’t ‘create’ things for volunteers to do to fill their time with us. We work with them to create meaningful programmes, often bespoke, and facilitate them in achieving their own goals.
5. Mentoring: We connect volunteers with local expertise
6. Wellbeing. We have a professional mindfulness coach who delivers group sessions and is available for individual meetings at no cost.
