Over the last 30 years we have supported hundreds of groups to have meaningful experiences on our programmes.
These groups have come from a wide range of schools, university field trips, scout troops, special needs organisations, company team building, Duke of Edinburgh Award participants and other groups - from all across Europe.
With unparalleled knowledge, our team of group volunteering experts has worked with groups to design student led experiences, alternative break trips, activity breaks and learning itineraries that enable cross-cultural learning and help to develop important career competencies as well as facilitate incredible experiences. Many of these group trips have also resulted in students gaining university credit for their time volunteering abroad as a group.
We have a great relationship with EU funding bodies, and there are funded opportunities to join us, especially for youth groups and special needs groups.
We cater for all budgets and all group sizes, from 4 to 40! At our Tenerife base we can offer unique experiences, where we show you authentic Tenerife, an incredible island in the Canaries, which is abundant in nature, culture and adventure.
We run Educational Programmes where we arrange for expert talks on numerous subjects, including: Tenerife culture, conservation, tourism impacts, whales & dolphins, black magic & voodoo, stargazing, herbal knowledge, and myths & legends. We also run Educational Courses on filmmaking, photography and cetacean research methodologies: photo identification, acoustics and theodolites.
As a registered UK charity, you can take comfort in the fact that your time with us will enable us to invest in local communities and businesses. We are proud of our work in Ecotourism, we help make a real difference, unlike some of the big tour operators.
We also offer you the chance to make a huge difference in a number of ways; you can get involved with local charities, take part in Citizen Science projects where you will come up close to whales and dolphins, you can invest in tree planting schemes and you can also become plastic neutral for the year!

We also run monthly fundraising trips where you can take part in The Teide Challenge, a climb up El Teide, the third highest active volcano in the world! We cover your food, accommodation and transport, and in return all we ask is that you fundraise for an organisation from our database or of your choice. |
We run these programmes at our AWdF volunteer base, which is responsibly run and makes a sustainable contribution. Each of our programmes maintain high standards of volunteer health, safety and security, and we provide a wide range of value-added services to ensure AWdF volunteers are supported to make the most of the time they spend abroad.
